DREAMY EYES & STARLET SKIES ♥ c a n n e s : s u m m e r 0 9

In our hotel (Le Meridien, Nice) before setting off on a daytrip to Cannes.

Karmeng & Jia // Jia & I

Waiting for the train.

Arrived in Cannes within an hour!

The lovely street of shops, tres european!

Apart from the usual designer brands / high street fashion / casual luxury, the street was filled with lots of little cafes, cute patisseries, and chocolate specialty shops, as well as unique boutiques featuring the most random but lovely trinkets! Pictured on the right is "Victoria Couture", a shop which is designed and stocked with everything Hello Kitty!

We wandered through the little streets till we reached the beachfront where we stopped to take in the beauty & sunshine. And the grandeur of the Ritz Carlton!

Beachclubs & blueskies

Life is but a merry-go-round; And dreams are built on sandcastles.

Not sure if you've noticed, but the bestie and I have a completely different sense of style. Case in point: She is almost always in colour, and I'm almost always in monochrome.

We walked and stopped; walked and stopped whenever we felt like it, to take in the amazing view, people watch or just camwhore! It was a lovely day!

Making silly faces

I feel so happy just looking at how happy I was when these photos were taken :)

It took us forever to find the theatre and walk of fame.... turns out we had already walked past it so we had to walk backwards.. that's how non outstanding it was!

MASSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT RIGHT? THIS? THIS is where the CANNES FESTIVAL takes place?????

After that we started exploring the cute designer boutiques which were located right on the boardwalk by the beach! Talk about celebrities living lifestyles of the rich and famous, Cannes is definitely their place in Europe.

And then we had an early dinner before heading back to the train station

Basically, Cannes is a more expensive, more crowded version of Nice; and even though we only spent a day there, it was more than enough for us to walk the entire city! From a completely touristy point of view, Cannes can definitely be covered in a day since there's not much culture for you to soak up anyway. I guess unless you visit during the film festival, there's not much to experience in Cannes that you can't really do in any of the other island of the French Riviera! All the same, I'm glad we made the trip down because now we know what it's like :)
