M☀NAC☀ SUMMER 2☀☀9

Last night we had dinner with D's family to celebrate Mid Autumn Festival and I totally binged on durians. We woke up grumpy at 5am today to send the parents to the airport, and then we realized for once we were early enough to have breakfast but the boy and I both forgot our wallets. Scoured the car and managed to find 8dollars in coins so we did drive through Mac's for hotcakes and hash browns! Fell back asleep and didn't wake up till almost 3pm, had chicken rice for late lunch, we ran some errands, watched How I Met Your Mother (hell yeah season 5!!!) and then we went to Vivo City to catch Funny People which was okay but just a bit draggy! Dinner at Michael Angelo's before he dropped me home. And so here I am, I've been totally procrastinating with updating these pictures but my best friend has been bugging me, and they really are rather lagging so since I'm not really doing anything else right now, I figured I may as well do a bit of it.

Bright & Early, and by that I mean like, noon.

Breakfast at a cute little cafe where we had omelettes and such, and yes, at noon.

I fell asleep on our way there and the other two didn't get off even though they both said they saw lots of signs reading "Monaco" and "Monte Carlo" glaring at them, so long story short we overshot and had to drop in the middle of literally nowhere (one measly hotel and a cafe that wasn't even open) while we waited for our ride back towards monaco at a stranded bus stop. Admittedly, the view is pretty awesome, but I was too grumpy/sleepy to take too many photos.

And then when we did finally get back, we dropped at the peak of Monaco, so we pretty much had to make our way down down down down to the coast from way up high, climbing tonnes of flights of stairs just like these.

Down we went until we finally all we saw was a mass of perfect blue: seas & skies.

And then we walked along "the champions promenade" which was much like the walk of fame in Cannes: Unimpressive.

just in case you were wondering, we continued walking: along the grand prix route.

AND THEN FINALLY we stopped in front of the jetty and the casinos, where we had sweet ice cream & crepes & ice cold drinks at a pierside cafe with hot pink chairs and i finally started to cheer up :)

we also ran into a cute singaporean couple who we ended up chatting to for awhile. they looked like they were on honeymoon but as it turns out they already have a baby boy. twas nice chatting with people who understood our need for a mummy's home cooked meal or some prata!

Nice dinner at a beach restaurant back in Nice

I am perpetually glued to my blackberry, which I miss alot now that I'm back in Singapore and have no service :(

dinner was amazing: the food was good, the wine was great, the company awesome. we sat for ages, drinking, eating, talking, debating about politics, soaking in the waves and the smell of the sea.

After dinner, we explored even more of the old town before we headed back to our hotel room, where we opened even more wine and played "i never"... oh the juicy things we found out about each other that night!

And then we went down to buy Mac Donalds, (kar meng & i even left our bb's in the room) and we ate on the beach, the riviera at our feet, throwing pebbles, playing shoot shag marry and even more i never, talking and all. We sat there for ages, mesmerized by the far away lights casting it's reflections on the sea, the breeze in our hair: the perfect last night.
